5 Days ‘til My 50th Birthday

…I doubt I could have imagined that my upcoming 50th birthday would have included all the craziness of 2020, but here we are. In 5 days, I turn 50 years old. It’s surreal.

I’ve never felt my age, nor acted it – but it feels so strange to be hitting this milestone that always seemed like it was eons away from actually happening!

With the new COVID-19 world that we’re in – I’ll be joining all those who have already celebrated with a “Quarantine Birthday” this year.

My 8th birthday party with a purple princess cake!!!

So, with this impending age change to “Middle-Aged” (Yea, I’m delusional) or more like a “Half-Centenarian” – I anticipate an influx of AARP mailings and other 50+ age-specific companies to bombard me. BTW, is the Red Hat Society still around?!?!

In the past year, my health has been completely out of whack, my anxiety and stress levels have been off the charts, and it took this moment … and realizing how blessed I am to be turning 50 next week, when many have not lived as long … it finally felt like I hit a “bottom” of not wanting to feel down anymore and that I need to fight my way back. So I’m starting TODAY to work on myself – so I can be a better person to all the people who mean the most to me! What better gift could I give myself than one that shines bright for better things to come – in time, with focus (to get things accomplished), patience (to know it takes time), and compassion (to know that I can make mistakes or have set backs, but to keep on going.

I want to be as open and transparent about what I’m going through – in hopes that it helps someone else who might be out there and needs to know they aren’t alone.

Well, 5 days to the BIG 5-0 … here I come!!!

Who’s ready to celebrate with me?!?!

💜 Jacque

Hope you have a great birthday! My granddaughter will be 14 on August 30. My late husband would have been 84 on August 29. It has been a rough 2 1/2 years. More difficult now. I like my alone times but not being lonely. Nights without him now sometimes requires tears. I am 74. My grandson will be 18 in December. With the pandemic I do not see much of my daughter and the grandkids. My brother and sister live in different states with their families.

Happy Birthday! 50 was great for me and now I’m in my 60’s..even better. My friend told me that when you turn 50 it is a very freeing experience. You can do what you enjoy and relax and enjoy your life. So enjoy, lovely lady.

Happy birthday Jacque. I wish you many Blessings. 50 is just a number. I will be 78 in 11 days and still going strong.I like you have had some set backs mental and physical in my life. With change of attitude, perseverance, and my faith that God would see me through I did. I know you will too.
