2 Days ‘til My 50th Birthday – I Want To Cry

Thank you to those of you who left me comments on yesterday’s blog – you all make me want to cry – but happy tears. Seriously, thank you. I definitely want to circle back and talk what so many of you have gone through or are currently going through – I’ll hope you’ll want to join me as we talk more openly about mental health and how we can support each other more!

And to those of you who said that you thought the mystery lily growing in our yard was a sign from someone … Theresa said the same thing. In fact, she told me she thought the lily was from my father. 💜

I’m sending you all a giant hug! Socially-distance, of course! 💜

Well…I’m all set to color and cut my own hair tomorrow – I’ve been watching YouTube tutorials all day, and I think I’m ready! I mean…if I mess up, it’ll just grow back, right?!?! Wish me luck!

I love that so many of you were “Cousin It” fans too – and got the reference I made 2 days ago about my hair being so long that I look like him!

Just to give you an idea of what I’m working with, check out this picture I took today of how long my hair is!

…and that’s my hair pulled OVER the front of my face … not the back of my head!

Don’t believe me?!?? Well, here’s proof for you! Peekaboo!!!

I even searched online for minimum requirements for donating hair to organizations who make wigs for adults and children who need them due to a medical condition. What I found was that most wont take hair that’s been colored or highlighted – and most want 8” – and I’m not sure I’m feeling that confident to cut that much hair off myself! If you have any suggestions, please let me know! We’ll see what happens tomorrow!

AND…the tree guys were going to be here today to cut out the center of the tree that crosses our driveway – as a temporary fix to allow us to get in and out! However, they got too busy today and couldn’t make it. So hopefully tomorrow! But rain is in the forecast … so I’m not sure if it will happen. Crossing my fingers!

Last night I got to sleep by 4am – so I’ll take it as a win that I didn’t see the sun come up!

BTW…fun question for you all:

QUESTION: What is your favorite cake flavor for your birthday??? 🎂 Or – do you eat something else besides cake as dessert to celebrate your birthday??? Please post your answers down below in the comments! Tomorrow, I’ll tell you my favorite!

💜 Jacque

My favorite birthday cake is Bumpy cake from Sanders which I had last Thursday on my birthday. Sanders is a Michigan thing if you didn’t know.

The best part of life begins at 50. Wake up and feel good about turning 50, it is only a number.
