Thanksgiving Ideas!?! What Are You Making?

With Thanksgiving just days away – for those of you cooking at home – what will you be making this year???

It will only be me, Jim, Theresa, and the doggos – Grace & Zoey at our house for Thanksgiving. We always make a turkey breast instead of a full turkey for our dinner – a full turkey would go to waste! Although we did make sure to pick up a full turkey to donate to our local food bank.

How do you prepare your turkey before it starts to cook? What are your BEST methods for cooking a turkey to have it come out delicious??? Please post them in the comment section below.

We’re still deciding on what small side dishes to make – and a small dessert! Have any suggestions for me??? I always make homemade cranberry sauce – however I’m the only one that eats them in our house! Jim and Theresa are too picky to even try it! Jim wants stuffing, mashed potatoes, and creamed corn. Theresa only wants green beans…and rolls. (Actually she only likes biscuits!)

I’m having fun searching around online finding yummy recipes and fun Thanksgiving activities – and I make sure to save them all on my PINTEREST BOARDS – I wanted to make sure to share with you where to look for Thanksgiving ideas!

Here’s my FALL FOOD, DECOR & CRAFTS Pinterest board!

You’ll also want to make sure you to look through my COOKIE EXCHANGE Pinterest board early to get some great ideas!!!

Make sure and follow me on Pinterest for all the great things I find! From food, crafts, decor, DIY, beauty, inspiration, gardening, and more … you’ll find that I pretty much have a little of everything on there!

I am seriously thinking I won’t make my pumpkin pies this year – since I’m the only who eats them, I would devour them! Plus, I don’t need to add any more to my Quarantine-15 weight gain! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Good grief, NO! That’ll be another story for another time!
Until then…

💜 Jacque

Well, it is just me by myself this year, and my dog….as it is most years. I will not be cooking a traditional meal. Not sure what I will have yet for dinner, but did get a Carvel turkey shaped ice cream cake. That is my splurge every year since I am not a fan of pumpkin flavor. Happy Thanksgiving all and…Be thankful for family if you are lucky to have them!!

Hello. I make the turkey and mash; my wife makes everything else. With the turkey, I simply poke holes all around it once it thaws and apply butter on it. I pour its own juices and butter on it while it cooks 3 times (once per hour).
Our sides have included the traditional fare as well as spinach dip in a bread bowl and a champagne salad.
    Happy Thanksgiving!

Just my hubby and me. I’m making a turkey breast & a turkey leg! Hubby likes the dark meat! I’ll be making corn we froze this summer from a local farmer, dressing, mashed potatoes,Cranberries from the can, and a yet to be decided dessert! But probably some thing pumpkin! Everyone have a happy Thanksgiving!

Just myself, my husband and a friend who was going to be home alone this year. I’ll make a turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, honey and butter roasted sweet potatoes and gravy. I think my friend is bringing mac and cheese. I’m making another friends Pumpkin Pie Cake for dessert. It’s sounds so yummy! I can’t wait to try it! 😋 https://vintagebakedmodern.com/pumpkin-pie-cake/

    Hey Jacque,

Wish I could try your cranberry sauce. I’m making a pumpkin pie and homemade whipped cream. If you want pumpkin pie, but don’t want to make the whole pie, I recently had a pumpkin…dip or pudding. I can send you the recipe. You can use Graham crackers or slice up a crust and add cinnamon to make “chips.”
