Thank you all for so many great ideas to help tackle holiday stress and anxiety in the last blog! I think your suggestions will help many of us.
One of my favorite ways to alleviate a bit of stress – watching a movie that makes me happy! It’s time to talk about our favorite HOLIDAY MOVIES!!!
At this time of the year I seem to watch the same collection of holiday movies over and over. Perhaps it’s that the familiar is comforting. I also love movies that make me laugh. And some of these movies I actually will watch all year long if they pop up on TV.
What are your FAVORITE Holiday Movies?
Which movies have you watched MULTIPLE times?
Here are a few of mine:
“Elf” (2003)
“Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer” (1964)
“Santa Claus is Coming to Town” (1970)
“The Year Without a Santa Claus” (1974)
- In fact, I love Rudolph and both Santa movies so much – that I had them playing when I was induced with Theresa!!!
“Home Alone” (1990)
“Christmas Vacation” (1989)

What’s the next line after: “Why is the carpet all wet Todd?” CHRISTMAS VACATION
“Scrooged” (1998)
“A Christmas Story” (1983)
“Jingle All The Way” (1996)
“The Santa Clause” (1994)
“The Polar Express” (2004)

“THE POLAR EXPRESS” – I interviewed Tom Hanks at the New York City press screening. He is EXACTLY as NICE as you’d think he’d be!
“The Holiday” (2006) Am I the only one who loves this movie???
I’ll watch “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (1966), “A Charlie Brown Christmas” (1965), and “Frosty The Snowman” (1969) – but they’re still not my favorites.
And, believe it or not – I’ve never watched “A Miracle on 34th Street”. (1947)
Of course “It’s a Wonderful Life” (1946) is tremendous – but it always made me a bit sad through the majority of it – so I don’t watch it unless I stumble upon it on TV. It’s the same with “A Christmas Carol” (1938) (1951) (1984).
Do any of you remember “Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas” (1977)? It was from Jim Henson and I remember watching it on HBO when I was little and I loved it!!! I haven’t seen it since then.
Oh yea, and if you don’t like having anyone talking through a movie – don’t watch any of these movies with me because I’ll be reciting all the lines that I have memorized! 🙂
It’s your turn! What are your favorites??? Post them below!!!
I can’t wait to see your picks!

I always watch White Christmas (1954).. love this movie.
I am very disappointed with your blog. When I wanted to follow you, I thought it would be about YOU, and what is happening in your life. I have inscribed.
I’m not much for movies but I do love “It’s a Wonderful Life”.
White Christmas is my favorite. Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney ❤️
My husband and I love Christmas Vacation. Lol!
I love A Christmas Story! “You’ll shoot your eye out” 😂
I watch these three every year, for sure!
I watch “Its A Wonderful Life, every Christmas evening.
When my daughter, and then grandkids, were little we never missed the yearly tv Christmas shows.
Those that I have to see for it to feel like the holiday season: It’s a Wonderful Life (watch it on the big screen every year), A Charlie Brown Christmas, The Little Drummer Boy, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
I watched The Holiday last night 🙂 My fave Christmas movie is White Christmas and watch it every year (saw it on the big screen at my local theater for the first time last year!).
Love Actually is my fave 💜
A Christmas Story! My adult son who will be 39 next week. Love the movie from the very first time he saw it. So when he is here over the holidays and it plays for 24 hours straight….yep! That is what’s on the tube!
A Christmas Story…no other Christmas movie comes close.
White Christmas…..The Holiday!
If you loved It’s a Wonderful Life, you will love Miracle on 34Th Street. I prefer the original. I also love, The Holiday. Other favorites are, White Christmas, The Bishop’ s Wife, Bells of St. Mary, Home Alone 2, and others, too many to mention. Hallmark channels have some good Christmas movies, too.
I love: Christmas Vacation, The Holiday (there’s nothing like a good Christmas romance!), The Muppets Christmas Carol, A Christmas Story (You’ll shoot your eye out!) The Little Drummer Boy (one of those claymation type movies from the 60’s I think) A Christmas Carol (the most recent one with Jim Carrey), PeeWee Herman’s Christmas Special and I’m sure there’s more that I can’t think of right now. :o)
OH Jacque: I have a few, to say the least. FROSTY THE SNOWMAN ⛄️ (THE ORIGINAL)! MIRACLE ON 34 STREET 1947! A CHRISTMAS CAROL 1984! THE ORIGINAL A CHRISTMAS CAROL (FIRST ONE DONE)! MY HUSBAND LOVES IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE ORIGINAL! SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN ORIGINAL! I HAVE MORE…BE BACK!
Do you have an email address so I can send you a picture of my Christmas tree because I am not on Facebook or twitter or any of the other sites you spoke of?
