Happy National Rescue Dog Day!!!

Today we celebrate all the RESCUE DOG’s that have BLESSED our life!!! All of my doggies (and one cat) have been rescues.

I’d LOVE if you’d post pics of your RESCUE PUPS below to share with everyone, pretty please?

Here are our fur babies:

Grace – 6 years old

Grace has a “thing” for makeup from Doll 10, Tarte, Josie Maran, and Philosophy. 🤦🏻‍♀️

and here’s our Zoey (when she was a puppy) …

She’s now 3 years old … and shortly after we adopted her we realized that she’s deaf … but that doesn’t stop her from trying to be in charge of EVERYTHING!!!

We adopted Gracie after seeing her at a local community street fair and adopted her the next day in 2013. She had the sweetest heart on her nose and was so sweet. She’s grown into almost 60 lb’s of love and protection! She’s awesome!

Zoey came into our lives unexpectedly. We went to see the movie “The Secret Life of Pets” it’s opening weekend in 2016 – and when it was over the Brandywine SPCA had all sorts of animals for everyone to visit with in the front of the theater (slick move!)! We fell in love with the doggie with the black heart on her backside and managed to adopt her before everyone else that tried to get her!

Needless to say, my husband Jim has already warned me that NO DOGS will be adopted when I go to see “The Secret Life of Pets 2” when it’s released next month! (Pssst…Don’t tell him I got early advance screening tickets and I wouldn’t be surprised if there are doggies there!)

Prior to Grace and Zoey ruling the roost … I had my baby boy Bo Didley (yes, purposely spelled that way) for 18 1/2 years. I miss him every day.

I also had the sweetest cat I adopted in Kansas City named Jasmine that Bo grew up with. I had her for almost 6 years before I realized I had developed asthma from being so allergic to her. After a trip to the emergency room – she went to “visit” with my friend Kelly who took wonderful care of her for the rest of her life. (I’ll share that story another time.)

Growing up in Albuquerque we had two Chihuahuas (at different times) named “Muffy” – a West Highland Terrier named Willie, and this Queen Chihuahua named Pebbles.

I was probably getting ready to take her outside with me while I roller skated. Normally I put her in the flower basket of my tall handlebar banana seat bike and ride around the neighborhood. Poor thing shook like a leaf the entire time.

We also had Poodle named Pierre. I remember Pierre and Willie fighting A LOT – I was pretty little at that time, so not a lot of memories of him.

And I heard a lot of good stories about the first dog in my life named Caesar – but I don’t know what kind of dog he was, or recall what he looked like.

All were rescues. All were loved.

Now share your pictures and/or stories of your RESCUE DOGS below in the comments! I can’t wait to see and read all about them!!!
