I’m a Dehydrated MESS! I Need Your Skincare Advice!

To all my friends and BEAUTY aficionados:

HELP!!! WHAT do I do??? My skin has become EXTREMELY DEHYDRATED!!! I need your skincare recommendations for FACE & BODY ASAP!!!

Here I am! Clean face and no filter! Dehydrated, acne prone, with redness.

Did you know there’s a BIG difference between dry and dehydrated skin???

Look what I found:

DRY SKIN CHARACTERISTICS

• Feels rough

• Appears dry

• Can be flaky

DEHYDRATED SKIN CHARACTERISTICS

• Looks dull

• Feels tight

• Feels rough

• Is sensitive

• Shows fine lines

• Shows accelerated signs of aging, like sagging skin and deep wrinkles

So if you have a moment – will you please let me know the BEST beauty products you know about or have used to combat dehydrated skin???

To top things off, I’ve got stress eczema on my hands and thighs. Which, of course, my doctor says “Stop being stressed.” Yea, sure doc, I can turn it on and off like a switch. NOT!!! It’s dry, itchy, and peels.

Also, how much does daily water intake contribute to skin health??? I’d imagine quite a bit – and I don’t drink much water at all! How much water should I be drinking daily? What foods have hidden water in them that will help me meet a daily water intake goal?

Thank you all so much for any advice you may have for me!

Jacque 💜

You may want to check out Korean skincare products. Where America is focused on retinol and anti-aging stuff, Korean skincare is focused on moisture and a dewy glow. I’ve incorporated some items and found them to be an enournous help.

I really like these Essences: Hanskin Real Conplexion Hyaluron Skin Essence; Missha Tine Revolution The First Treatment Essence. An essence goes on between a toner and a serum or in place of a toner.

Dr Jart Ceramidin Liquid says it’s a toner, but it’s really a serum. When I used that under the Dr Jart Ceramidin Cream moisturizer, it really made a difference in my winter skin.

My favorite products have been Korean sheets masks. They’re cloth or gel masks soaked in serums and they hydrate my skin like crazy. I put one on and meditate or listen to an audio book for 20
Minutes before bed and the next morning my skin thanks me. I like the Aloe Vera masks by a company called Leaders, but there are tons to choose from and they focus on various needs.

You can find lots of Korean skincare at websites like SoKo Glam and Glow Recipe. Target has started to carry the Missha brand online and in some stores. And Charlotte Cho, creator of SoKo Glam, wrote a short book called The Lottle Book of Skincare that I found very helpful.

Hope you find something that helps turn things around!

Try C23 by Zaia. It’s a Vitamin C serum that uses VC-IP and its oil based. Since it’s oil based, Vitamin C it is absorved by the skin 3x more than water based products. You can have a free sample at http://thehollywoodavenue.com

Jacque, Im new to all this blogging stuff but please follow my blog, Jennifer Pecks Skin Care Blog. The skin need to be treated internally and externally. The obvious is drink water but let me just say there is nothing you can do if you do not get mechanical exfoliation of the skin. The skin by design is meant to keep things out. This makes it very challenging from treating the skin from the outside in. If you do not mechanically remove outer layers of skin nothing can penetrate it. Therefore whatever you purchase is a waste of money because it will not remove the outer layers of skin. You need to get a Hydrafacial and purchase products that nourish the skin. Skinmedica is the best on the market. Rodan and Fields is a waste of money.

Jacque, the best thing I found for eczema is Gold Bond Ultimate eczema relief. I had two large stress patches on my face and the palms of my hands, it cleared up pretty quickly. I use it daily on my face and hands for maintenance. Wishing you luck!

Try a brand called Belif. I get it at Sephora. They have their own website belifcosmetic dot com. Their products are gentle and very effective!

If you are dehydrated water is the key! You should cut back on caffeinated beverages. They are dehydrating especially if you are not drinking water. Paula’s Choice sells many wonderful skin care products!

Me, too, but I am 70. I love Dr. Denese, but her products dried me out. Believe it or not, Dove body wash is working in the shower. Am anxious to see what works. You still are beautiful.

Not really sure. But you as a “mess” look about 10 times better than most at their best. Hope you find relief soon.

Gold Bond is great for dry skin. I have type 2 diabetes and use the diabetic formula but they also have one for eczema. I use Neutrogena deep cleaning wash and No. 7 moisturizer. Drinking water is very important. I mix it with green tea powder and it is delicious and gives me energy.

For daily skin care, I use a glycerin-based cream or lotion. (Think Kiehl’s or Camille Beckman.) For Eczema, I used a prescription steroid cream. I have very sensitive skin as I was born without epithelial tissue, and they used lanolin on me. That sometimes helps when I can’t find the glycerin products. My eczema is on my hands and under my arms. Good luck, Dear!

Rice foaming cleanser followed by our pure rose water, next Gold Energizing cream which is a cure all treatment balm, mix in some of our bio lift serum while you’re at it, next our bio lift +cream, and don’t forget neck cream, we also have a fabulous retinol body and hand lotion , for especially dry face, try bio lift mask over night – it’s all the rage even for other countries…. try the jasmine healing mask since your skin seems sensitive …i can’t say enough of this brand 80 to 100% pure, best skincare I’ve used in all my 58 years of living😁

It starts from within. Drink tons of water…I mean tons!! Then Isomers Hyaluronic Acid straight up. Might want to step away from the caffeine. Simple & effective. Did I say drink tons of water? 💕

Yes DRINK water!! At least 64 oz! You can add lemon or sliced cucumber if you prefer. During cold weather I’ll even drink hot water with lemon.
It helps a lot with skin and overall health.
I highly recommend Josie M’s Aragon oil. I also was having adult acne issues. I tried Peter Thomas Roth Acne cream and it is amazing. Non drying and works. To maintain, I dab on a tiny amount on my prior problem areas in the morning. I also stopped using Purity. I had used it for at least 10 years and loved it. I swear though the formula changed. My skin wasn’t feeling good. Looked dull, felt tight and acne. I stopped using it and after one week, the acne was much less, skin was glowing and felt soft again. I waited 2 months and tried Purity (because I loved it for so long), within 3 days dryness and tightness returned.
So I use Dr. Denese hydrating facial cleanser. I buy direct fr. her website. I don’t shop QVC anymore.
Good luck!!! Start with the water though (you will be tinkling a lot for a week or so, but then your body will adjust)

You could take Omega3 supplements, eat avocados, and drink water. If I decrease sugar and meat intake, and increase my vegetable consumption it improves my skin appearance not to mention the waistline. HUMIDIFIER ON MY SIDE of the bed has made my skin better than any supplement, cleanser or cream I have ever used. Shea butter on your hands and thighs. Try meditation. Find a local group or solo at home. Good luck with stress reduction.

Eat a lot of fruits and veggies, 10 oz of water a day. Keep your hands away from your face. As you know good skin care is the best, I use all philosophy products.

Hi
I drink water (as I have had kidney stones before). I also drink a sparkling probiotic drink once a day. It has apple cider vinegar and other organic items plus the probiotics in it. Try not to drink things that have sugar in them. I try to drink about 60-75 ounces of water a day. I also take a biotin vitamin (as it helps with skin). There are a number of other vitamins and supplements I take as well.
When it comes to beauty products I am very minimal. I do the Philosophy moisturizer and their Purity cleanser and use a powder make up. Every once in a while I will go to have a facial done and I do make sure I visit the dermatologist (as I recently lost my father and it was skin cancer that had metastasized).
I wish I could be of more help but this is what I do.

So research vegetable glycerin. It pulls the moisture from inside out. You can add essential oils for nice smell. It’s miraculous how fast it works and so economical. Get on Amazon for 10.00. Read about it and try. My feet changed literally over night. 100 percent safe and should not be an issue even for sensitive skin. You can use anywhere on body!!

When my face is dry(and it always is) during the day I’ll run my hands under the faucet and press onto my face. It absorbs really quickly. Also Bobbi Brown facial cream and eye cream really help keep moisture in. If I’m still dry I’ll add a drop of argon oil to makeup or pre makeup. I hope this helps. The Bobbi Brown reps are always available to chat with you and they have specials every week, GWP. And no I’m not affiliated with BB lol.
