2017… A Year for Twists and Turns

…it was an odd year (and it was actually an “odd” year!) – but now that it’s ending, I’m thankful for its lessons.

2017 was filled with twists and turns.  Ups and downs.  Peaks and valleys.  All of it has prepared the way for 2018 and a fresh perspective to open to door to dreams and goals I have.

I have small things I want to achieve as well as major things.  Everything takes time, hard work, and focus.

If it’s said that it takes 6 weeks to form a habit, I believe I can muster out more than 6 weeks to pave the way for progress.  I mean, 6 weeks, that can’t be that hard, right?

Hmmmm…

What if we were to share a small goal we’d like to achieve – something small, something relatively easy?  What if we cheered each other on – while keeping ourselves accountable?

Hmmmm…

I may need to write out my goals and categorize them as Small, Medium, Large, etc.

But…we should also remember that “goals” can be as simple as read a book, make your bed, drink more water, go to bed earlier, or eating more vegetables.  We don’t have to climb Mount Everest in a single bound.

Get a piece of paper – and jot down a few things you’d like to accomplish.  Make sure some of them are really easy, simply things.  You can print out the “New Years Resolution Journal” that I found below to help you out!  I like that it’s simple and straight forward outline without being overwhelming!  Please IGNORE that it says 2015 on it!

Let’s meet back here tomorrow and start our plan of action together.

Who’s in???

Yes, I need to prioritize my bad habits and set goals to change my behavior. I’m the boss right? No one is going to do it for me so thank you for the resolutions journal to help me organize my brain that is twirling around like a merry-go-round!

For those that are interested I downloaded an app called Fabulous that does exactly what Jacque is talking about. I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks now and I enjoy it. It’s instilling good habits into me and making me more positive about activities that I don’t like doing.

My number 1 intention for the upcoming year is to improve my health and Number 2 is to finish my screenplay!

2017 was probably the toughest year of my life. So many lows, tears, big scary things, but also a great big high- my mom had a very successful kidney transplant! God is good. While there are still some other scary things ahead for my family in 2018, I pray it will lead to all good things in time. Most importantly, good health. If you don’t have that, what do you really have? Cheers to a new and hopefully healthier year for all.
